blue moon: real or just a myth

Blue Moon is the name given to the second full moon that occurs in the span of a month. Is it true that when the Blue Moon, moon really blue?

In the English-speaking community, the phrase 'blue moon' means in absurdity, impossibility, or ketidakmustahilan. When someone says, 'a time when the blue moon' this is a significant event that will take place on extremely rare occasions. However, did the term 'blue moon' obtained from people who had once been seen in turns blue?

The term is a term. Blue moon itself is a term for the second full moon in a month in the Gregorian calendar. How did this happen? Period moon reaches full moon takes about 29 days. While in the Christian calendar revolves around the 30 or 31 days, it's likely that when the full moon occurs twice in a month. Usually this happens in the span of 2.5 years.

Although only a term, month really never seen blue. Not only at the full moon, when the moon crescent or half, when the moon is blue. It happened after the massive eruption of Mount Krakatau in 1883. Krakatoa volcanic dust scattered in space. And at the time, was caught in the eye of the blue, and even the occasional green. Not only the moon, the sun looks purple.

Blue moon also happened after the eruption of El Chichon volcano in Meksko, in 1983 as well as post-eruption Mount St. Helens in 1980 and Pinatubo in 1991.

Blue moon is seen on August 31, 2012 yesterday, certainly not a blue moon is blue, but the full moon that appears for the second time in August. If you miss it, watch in July 2015. Do not forget to set your camera or photo editing so that you see the blue moon really a 'blue moon'.
