Foo Fighters and The Black Keys Ready Berantas Poverty


Foo Fighters and The Black Keys, along with other musicians will play at the Global Festival on September 29 in Central Park, New York. Together with the Band of Horses, K'naan and Neil Young, a large concert is intended to help increase awareness and raise funds to end poverty.
Global Festival aim not only to raise awareness, but also to redefine how a charity concert in operation. Since Central Park is a large public space, all tickets must be free Global Festival organized and distributed by a random draw. Thus, fans who wish to attend the Global Festival will follow the vote by doing something not only to enter their names. Fans are eligible to win two tickets to the Global Festival with a number of ways, such as making contributions to educate about the various issues through the online platform Citizen Global based applications.
"The new standard for this event is that you sell tickets through Ticketmaster for $ 60 or $ 70 and some of it will be practiced," said the Global Poverty Project founder Hugh Evans to Rolling Stone. "We want to Global Festival to be an action, not just money. By thinking differently about how we distribute the tickets, we are developing the movement."
Foo Fighters said in a communique: "We are very proud to be able to lend hands for creative events, important and wish to add a large noise in the garden to help efforts to reduce global poverty." Manager of The Black Keys, John Peets, also commented on this event: "We came from Ohio, so we grow in the vicinity of the working class, working hard, but we get a global view makes you want to give back even more."
